Filter cleaning

Over time, the performance of filter systems is progressively reduced. The main causes are chemical and biological ocherous and sintered deposits supported by commonly occurring iron and manganese bacteria. Their partly acid-resistant waste products not only clog the filter slots, but eventually, the entire filter space.

Similar processes can be observed in water-treatment filters. With an increasing operating time of the filter, growing amounts of iron and manganese are irreversibly bound to the filter grain. This results in grain growth and thus modifies the grain and pore distribution initially used in the filter. In extreme cases, the filter grains form solid concretions that have little or no filtering effect.

CARELA® rehabilitation agents dissolve iron, manganese and naturally all kinds of lime deposits. Even very old organic and inorganic incrustations are successfully dissolved. Iron, manganese and sulphur reducing bacteria are simultaneously exposed and killed. Supplementary disinfection of the installation is therefore unnecessary. A single application with results.
